An open call art prize exhibition featuring emerging global artists.

This exhibition of 18 works is the result of the inaugural Waverton Art Prize, founded by Boisdale in partnership with investment manager, Waverton. An open call art prize with submissions from around the world, this new initiative shines a spotlight on emerging talent offering a venue to show their works, as well as the opportunity to win £10,000 cash prize to contribute towards their career or studio and a solo presentation at Alice’s Oyster Bar and Gallery. The winner of the prize is being selected by acclaimed BP Portrait Award winner, Stuart Pearson Wright.

The shortlisting process and exhibition is curated by Paint Talk, an internationally facing curatorial platform, focused on delivering exhibitions and projects with exciting, talented artists. Paint Talk was founded by Mark Connolly, a painter, set designer and curator born in Northern Ireland, living in London. “The shortlisting process was challenging and invigorating, comprising of a truly exceptional variety of submissions. From several hundred submissions, a longlist of over one hundred was pulled together, from which eighteen artists were selected to exhibit. I wanted the shortlist to showcase the breadth of variety of work submitted and two key considerations of the shortlisting process were: the quality of the submitted work contributing to a great collection of works to be shown together, and the selected artists prospective exhibition if chosen as the winner of the prize. The impact of the prize on the selected winner is tremendously exciting, and I cannot wait to see the body of work produced to be exhibited at Alice’s Oyster Bar and Gallery and online.”
